Before configuring Share-A-Purchase, make sure you have completed all mandatory integration. For tutorial on the above integration, please refer to Integrating ShopSocially.

Adding New Campaign


You can add new campaigns using the Adding New Campaign button.


Please follow the steps given below:

  1. Login into Merchant Center
  2. Click Campaigns tab. 
  3. Click Add New Campaign tab. Refer to Figure: Adding New Campaign. 
  4. Select and click available campaign, or from available campaigns.

Configuring the campaign

When you add a new campaign you will be taken to the configuration setup. Refer to Figure: Configuration Tabs.

There are various tabs in the configuration set up. Setup for each tab is given in following sections.


  • Sharer Settings 
  • Friends Settings  
  • Advanced Settings  
  • Mobile


Sharer Settings

The Sharer Settings tab is for configuring incentive Information, popup on thank you page, incentive email sent to sharer, and thank you message after sharing.


Please follow steps given below:

1. In Incentive Info, provide:

  • Type of Incentive: Choose one any one type of incentive:

1. General coupon code: Same coupon code for everyone.


2. Single use coupon codes: Each user gets a unique coupon code upon unlock.


3. No Incentive: If you want to run the campaign without giving away any incentives.


4. Rebate on Current Purchase: User will get a rebate on his current purchase if you use this option.


The coupon codes have to be generated in your shopping cart and uploaded here. The App will simply display whatever is uploaded here. For Generic Coupon Codes, enter the coupon code that will be given to each user upon email subscription. For single use coupon codes, enter one coupon code per line. If you have a list of coupon codes in a spreadsheet you can copy paste the column there. The App will give out the codes to the users sequentially. The 'Get Status' button can be used to check how many codes are used up and how many are remaining. The App will be auto paused when all the coupons are used up. You will receive automated notifications when the coupons are close to exhaustion.

  • Coupon Description: This will appear in the Incentive Email sent to sharer. You will need to configure this in the Incentive Email sent to sharer, in Offer Email.

  • Coupon Expiration date
  • Minimum Purchase Amount: This will appear in the Incentive Email sent to sharer. You will need to configure this in the Incentive Email sent to sharer, in Offer EmailRefer to Figure: Incentive Email To Sharer 1.

  • Terms & Conditions: This will pop up when the user will click on the Terms Button Label. This will show up the terms and conditions of the offer. Refer to Figure: Terms & Conditions.

2. In Popup on Thank You Page, provide:

  • Image for banner: To customize the banner, click the Pencil icon in the upper left hand corner. A custom banner may also be uploaded (620 pixels width, 60 pixels height). 
  • Text to prompt user: It is recommended to prompt the user into writing some unique content when sharing the product on Facebook (Replacing the "Why did you buy it?" text). This will be beneficial towards generating data to be used in other Apps.

This is the pop up that will appear after the user goes through the checkout process and hits the Order Confirmation/ Thank You page. Images in the application (the t-shirt and iPhone) are placeholders for where the purchased product (s) will appear. Refer to Figure: Popup On Thank You Page.

3. Incentive Email sent to sharer: This is the email that will be sent to the sharer. It may be customized. Certain "phrases" refer to options set in this App. "_COUPONDESC_" refers to the Coupon Description, "COUPONCODE_" refers to the Coupon Code, and "_MINPURCHASE_" refers to the minimum purchase settings. These phrases will auto-populate according to the App's settings. Refer to Figure: Incentive Email To Sharer 1.

Please note: In incentive email to sharer, you can also populate other products flying on shelf. Refer to Figure: Other Products Flying On Shelf.

4. Thank you message after sharing: This is the banner that displays to the customer after the offer is shared. We recommend uploading a custom banner. You can change the Thank you Message HTML, and its background color. Provide:
  • Thank you Message HTML 
  • Sharing Options Header Background Color 
  • Shopping Community Link Text 
  • Sharing Options Header Text. Refer to Figure: Thank You Message After Sharing.

Please note: When the sharer will click the Shopping Community Text, the sharer will be taken to product stories which shows what others are buying and related stories. Refer to Figure: Shopping Community Link.

5. Click Save.

Friends Settings


The Friends Settings tab is for configuring incentive info for friends, Facebook post, and Twitter post.


Please follow steps given below:


1. In Incentive Info, provide:

  • Coupon Description: Please enter the coupon description in this field here, example, 'Get 25% of on your purchase of $100 or more*'. This displays in the Facebook Post. The variable for this is _COUPONDESC_ and you will need to place this in the Facebook Post. Refer to Figure: Facebook Post 1.
  • Coupon Expiration date
  • Minimum Purchase Amount: Please enter a minimum purchase amount (if applicable) in order for the Coupon Code to work. The variable for this is _MINPURCHASE_ and you will need to place this in the Facebook Post. Refer to Figure: Facebook Post 1.
2. Facebook Post: This is the post that will appear on friend's Facebook wall when the purchase is shared. Insert text to prompt user to click the link. You may insert the variables such as _COIUPONCODE_ or _COUPONDESC_ to refer directly to the Incentive Info Settings. Refer to Figure: Facebook Post 1.

3. Twitter Post: The user may tweet their purchase. _PRODTITLE_ pulls the product title that is tweeted and _PRODURL_ pulls a truncated product URL. Refer to Figure: Twitter Post.

The Advanced Settings tab is for configuring when to trigger sharer incentive, Share-a-Purchase App's pop-up functionality, web banner on thank you page, friend invite messages after sharing, sidebar for Share-a-Purchase App, and background template settings.

Please follow steps given below:

1. In Sharer Incentive, provide:
  • Kickback offer type: This to configure when to deliver coupon to the shopper via email. Select one of the below options:
1. When a friend clicks on the shopper's post: Select this check box, if you want to give incentive to the Sharer (Shopper), when the Sharer's friend click's on the Sharer's post. You can set up minimum number of clicks required to trigger this incentive.
2. friends make a purchase: Select this check box, if you want to give incentive to the Sharer (Shopper), when the Sharer's friend's make a purchase. You can set up minimum number of friends who make a purchase, required to trigger this incentive. Refer to Figure: Sharer Incentive.

2. Popup on Thank You Page: You can change the configuration of the "Share-A-Purchase" App pop-up functionality. By default, it is set to auto pop-up. Provide:

  • Popup Top: This to set the distance in pixels from the top of the browser windows that the Share-A-Purchase pop-up shows up. As this number is increased, the popup will be pushed down.  
  • Auto Popup: From drop down, select 'Yes' if you want auto popup, or select 'No" if you do not want auto popup.
  • Minimum Comment Length

3. Web Banner on Thank You PageYou may choose to display a banner on the Thank You Page of the checkout process. Provide:
  • Display SSFrame: Select this check box choose to display a banner on the Thank You Page of the checkout process.
  • Id for SSFrame Div
  • Upload an image (any size) to suite your website theme and you can customize the banner. Refer to Figure: Web Banner.

Changes required on the your website:
  • Place the div <div id="ssFrame"></div> on your website. 
  • The div is present in the first line of the advanced integration code on your website. 
  • Cut and paste it on the website where you want the banner to be displayed.

4. Friend Invite Messages after Sharing: This is where you may edit the prompt to send a private message to the sharer's Facebook friends. Provide:
  • Friend Invite Message 
  • Button Text for Invite Action 
  • Button Text after Invite Action

5. Sidebar: You may choose to have a Sidebar on the Order Confirmation page for Share-A-Purchase.
Provide:
  • Show SideBar on Order Confirmation Page: Check this box if you want the Sidebar.
  • Placement of SideBar on Order Confirmation Page: The slider can be placed either on the right or the left of the browser window. You choose.
  • URL of the sidebar image: Sidebar image is the image that sits on the side when the slider is in minimized state. You can select from our library of stock sidebar images or you can upload a custom image of your choice. This sidebar image should accurately represent the offer. Here are some examples of how some cool sidebars have been implemented by other retailers. You can create a sidebar image of any size as you think will look best on your website. If you want the slider to appear from the right, go to stock creatives library of right-sided sidebar images, or create a custom image of your choice.
  • Popup Filler Width: Width of the sidebar. Units in pixels.
  • Border color of sharing Window: Border color in RGB, hex format. This color is assigned to the border and also to the background of your sidebar image. If you sidebar image is transparent, it will automatically assume the border color. Match this border color to a prominent color on your website. Refer to Figure: Border color of sharing Window.
  • Sidebar Color: If you are using transparent image, configure sidebar color accordingly here. For non-transparent image, recommended setting for sidebar color is "transparent".
  • Footer Background Color
  • Powered By SS Text Color. Refer to Figure: SideBar.

6. Background Template Settings: You can use this section to change the look and feel of the Share-A-Purchase window. Enable Background Template check box, to give a new look and feel to your Share-A-Purchase window. Provide:
  • Background Image: This image will serve as the background for the Share-A-Purchase App.
  • Footer Box Color:  
  • Product Label Color 
  • Powered By ShopSocially Text Color 
  • Product Image Background Color 
  • Comment Box Background Color. Refer to Figure: Background Template Settings.

7. Click Save.

Mobile

The Mobile tab is for configuring is to configure mobile options and these settings define how the App will be displayed on a mobile device.


Please follow steps given below:


1. In Mobile Options, provide:

  • Display Bottombar: Select this check box if you want to display the bottombar for mobile.
  • Bottombar Color
  • Sidebar Text: This is the text that displays in the "footer" that remains on-screen when the app is closed. 
  • Sidebar Text Color 
  • Mobile Incentive Image (280 x 140): This is the image the user sees when they first see the App, before sharing their purchase. It can be any image you create, limited to 280 X 140 pixels. It should clearly explain the benefits/ incentive made available for sharing a purchase. 
  • Mobile Thank You Image (280 x 140): This is the image the user sees after sharing their purchase. It can be any image you create, limited to 280 X 140 pixels. It can reiterate the benefits/ incentive made available for sharing a purchase.
  • Footer Background Color 
  • Powered By SS Color: Text color for 'Powered by ShopSocially'.
2. Click Save.
